He began his secondary education at Wareng Secondary School in Uasin Gishu County, followed by Kapsabet High School in Nandi County, where he completed his Ordinary and Advanced Level studies. Pursuing his passion for the natural sciences, he enrolled at the University of Nairobi, earning a BSc in Botany and Zoology in 1990.
